The introduction of amino groups from CATA ION the cellulosic fibres will be protonated giving high substantivity for anionic dyes due to the columbic attraction between the positive charged groups (NH2+) on the fibre and the negative charge on anionic dyes. Cotton fibres due to the hydroxyl group in its structure faces problem of fibre-dye attraction. By this treatment it can do a morphological modification of ionic nature to make the fibre to attract the dye molecule.
